Homesteading

We kind of just happened into the homesteading life as we became intentional to live a simple life. We wanted something different than your typical modern day life. My husband and I are old souls with old fashion minds and values. We hoped to instill in our children some of those passions to be good stewards of this world, to work hard with your hands, to serve others, but most importantly to choose God and family over everything else in this world. Homesteading just came natural with those desires for how we hoped to raise our children.

While we don't have much land we do make the most of it and even borrow land from neighbors to make our gardens go further. We large scale garden, raise laying hens, can, dehydrate, freeze, cook from scratch, grind our grain, sew, use cloth diapers, make lye soap, and the list goes on and on.  Yes, it's a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. Working together as a family is absolutely the best! If you're curious about the ins and outs of homesteading check out the following posts.
